CU*Answers is working with its CUSO credit unions to develop a community approach to executing AnswerBook for their memberships. CU*Answers is hosting the AnswerBook product for all community members. This allows the CU*Answers Web Service team to quickly brand an AnswerBook template to integrate with each credit union's web page look and feel.

Each credit union will start with a packet of "seed questions" and interesting knowledge packs and calculators which will allow members to start using AnswerBook right out of the gate. This AnswerBook community will develop methods for regularly sharing member questions and key database elements, with a goal of creating a rich member offering.

By sharing the best practices of each credit union in meeting member demand, not only will credit unions learn how to make AnswerBook more effective for member, they will also assure they are addressing the broadest possible audience of credit union member needs. For example, if the network's most common member inquiry has to do with how to avoid paying fees, participating credit unions could share in the responses that seem to satisfy members the best, and then act. The group could share whether relationship management programs work better than blanket fees. The group could share the most effective way to disclose relationship management fee programs. This is only one example.

In the end, CU*Answers hopes that credit unions acting together in building these databases will receive better pricing, get to market more quickly, and learn more from each other than they every would have from a single member database. CU*Answers wants to bring the scale of 700,000 members to credit unions that average less than 10,000 members.

This AnswerBook community can go much farther than just credit unions. With current members like Callahan & Associates, Member Value Network, and Fuze Digital Solutions, we hope to exchange data not only about members but about the industry and the people who work in it. Don't forget the private side of the AnswerBook database and its internal capabilities to answer employee and Board member questions.
